Whole oats are commonly fed to:

• Horses
• Cattle
• Sheep and goats
• Pigs
• Poultry (usually cracked or ground for better digestion)

They provide moderate energy, good fibre, and around 10–13% protein depending on quality and variety. Air-cleaned oats are generally preferred because they contain less dust, chaff, and foreign material.
